CRM Specializations
While we have experience in a wide-variety of Nonprofit CRM systems (and are always excited to dig into a new or less-familiar system), these are the Nonprofit Database Systems we know best:
Bloomerang is probably our favorite - and most recommended CRM systems, especially for small and mid-sized nonprofits. They’re continually improving their software and adding new features. Stand-out features include their internal email system; an intuitive and comprehensive filtering and reporting tool and its stellar customer training and support.
Bloomerang was founded in part by a former Blackbaud exec who knew a much better tool was possible… and then successfully built it!
Bloomerang’s recent acquisition of QGiv is elevating the platform functionality with powerful, well-integrated fundraising tools.
Toccata supports many Bloomerang clients on an ongoing basis managing their system and keeping data well-maintained. We’ve managed multiple migrations into Bloomerang from other systems and frequently help with custom configurations of pledge programs, moves-management systems, and integration management.
Kindful is a user-friendly but basic CRM (purchased by Boomerang in 2024) that is better-suited for organizations with fairly basic needs. We’ve worked with many Kindful clients over the years in adapting to the tool to fit more complex needs, particularly managing integrations and organizing the data flowing into Kindful from various sources.
Neon CRM is a powerful, full-featured system, with a modern user-interface. Over the last several years, Neon has made major overhauls of key tools including native email-marketing, membership modules, donation forms and event management. They continue to make frequent, great improvements to their products. There can be a slight learning curve when starting out with Neon.
One feature that makes Neon stand apart from other CRMs is its “workflows” automations feature as well as a superior membership module for membership-based organizations.
We’ve managed several very complex data migrations into Neon, trained new staff on some of the trickier elements of Neon; built custom reports, campaigns, gift and constituent coding systems; and managed many new-system configurations.
DonorPerfect (DPO) is a solid, online fundraising tool and donor management solution with some very useful advanced automation tools and high-level of flexibility for custom fields, screen-design etc... DPOs primary limitation (in my opinion) is the lack of integration options when the internal tools are insufficient for specific needs.
We’ve worked with Donor Perfect clients for many years, helping to optimize and streamline our clients’ use of DP, utilize the more advanced features (like Smart Actions, custom reports, screen design, form automations. We’ve trained existing staff on the complexities and customizations, new staff on basic usage. DP recently (2023) rolled out a new online donations form, a huge, very-necessary improvement that we’re excited about.
Little Green Light (LGL) is a user-friendly and affordable donor management tool that we work with frequently and happily. Some of our favorite LGL features are its successful Mailchimp integration, as well as one of the most flexible, responsive form builders on the market.
We have many long-term LGL clients that we help with ongoing database management. Frequent LGL projects include building complex forms (event registrations in particular), setting up donor segmentation systems, as well as system configuration for new LGL customers.
Other tools:
Raiser’s Edge NXT - Recent RENXT projects include,
• Post-event data imports from a gala / auction managed in OneCause
• Integration management and data imports from Luminate Online/ Team Raiser.
• new staff training and set up in both webview and database view.
• Migration away from RENXT, which is more often than not, a poor fit for small to mid-sized nonprofits.
Salesforce - We’ve engaged with Salesforce users for daily gift and event management; Classy configuration and integration management and data cleanup projects.
eTapestry - We’ve have several long-term eTapestry clients and have consulted and managed migrations out of eTap into new systems.
Salsa CRM + Salsa Engage - Examples of recent Salsa projects include a migration from elaborate spreadsheet-based donor management + constant contact into Salsa CRM and Salsa engage. We managed the planning and data imports as well as the actual migration and much of the post-migration configuration.
